Abstract

|
We reported a 21-year-old single female with fragmentation hemolytic anemia of unknown underlying cause, which was manifested by retinal and vaginal hemorrhage, thronnbocytopenia, hemiparesis and hemolytic crisis but both L.E. cell test and Coomb¢¥s test were negative.
A review of pertinent literature for microangiopathic hemolytic anemia was made with concern.
The patient¢¥s general condition and bleeding tendency were promptly improved but the hemiparesis and the erythrocyte fragmentation rather slowly, by initially intravenous and subsequently oral administration of dexamethasone.
